Georgia's National Intellectual Property Centre announced that Tovlis Babua, the Georgian equivalent of Santa Claus, which translates to "Snow Grandpa," has been officially recognized as an intellectual property of Georgia and granted copyright protection.
The Centre described Tovlis Babua as a figure emblematic of the enduring human aspiration to perform acts of kindness. “He represents one of the most remarkable expressions of human creativity—a joyful means of fostering goodwill,” the statement noted.
The registration, according to the Centre, underscores the significance of intelligence and creativity in shaping aspirations into reality. “This serves as a reminder that human ingenuity and creative expression possess the power to transform dreams into tangible achievements,” the announcement emphasized.
In a celebratory message for the upcoming New Year festivities, the Centre remarked: “We must believe that the clock of our dreams will begin ticking on New Year's Eve with the arrival of Tovlis Babua, signaling the moment when our dreams will come true.”
