
Georgia has secured the 41st place in the World Bank’s Open Government Index, which has placed the country ahead of seven European Union and NATO member states as well as all EU candidate countries.
The country received a 59 percent score in the 100 percent evaluation system in the Index.
The ranking indicates that Georgia is leading ahead of Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Albania, Turkey, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, and Ukraine.
Among the neighbouring countries, it stands out as the leader, while in a wider post-Soviet space the country is only behind the Baltic states.
The World Bank’s database is based on research by the World Justice Project, an international civil society organization with the stated mission of working to advance the rule of law around the world.
