
“Georgian government, the private sector and the citizens have been trying to collect aid for Ukraine since the first day of the war. 710 tons of aid had been sent from Georgia. Embassy’s account also receiving donations of 985 000 GEL, over $45,000 and €1,500,” the Embassy official said.
“More than 20 000 refugees from Ukraine have been registered in Georgia since the start of the war. Ukrainians had received not only asylum but also the warmth of Georgian people,” - Irina Mankhonus, the Second Secretary for Consular Affairs, stressed.
The Embassy is working to provide Ukrainian citizens leaving the country with support in coordination with the Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Government of Georgia.
