Former President Salome Zourabichvili issued a strongly worded social media statement, condemning what she called Georgia’s rapid slide into “chaos, criminality, and dictatorship.”
“There is complete chaos in the country… This is the classic final stage of dictatorship,” she wrote on Facebook, accusing the ruling party of imposing a false reality and dragging the country into a mafia-style system influenced by Russia.
Zourabichvili cited recent arrests, threats of violence, the alleged suicide attempt of ex-Adjara leader Tornike Rizhvadze, and pressure on businessmen like Giorgi Ramishvili as signs of a state in collapse.
She warned that Georgia’s democratic foundations are being dismantled, replaced by a regime built on fear and modeled after authoritarian systems.
