"The capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, is hosting an international seminar, funded by the European Union, aimed at strengthening the patent attorney system as part of the ongoing domestic reforms led by the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia," - the organization announced.
Taking place from Wednesday to Thursday, the seminar, titled Reform of the Qualification System of Patent Attorneys in Georgia, focuses on enhancing intellectual property rights in Georgia, as well as in Moldova and Ukraine, through the EU4IP regional project.
A collaborative effort between the EU Intellectual Property Office and Georgia's Intellectual Property Centre, the seminar seeks to reform the country’s patent attorney system and align Georgia’s intellectual property protection standards with those of the EU.
Throughout the event, participants have been discussing patent attorney qualification exams, preparatory courses, and continuing education standards. Special attention has been given to EU patent attorney qualification models, including the content, format, and assessment systems of their examinations, the national body reported.
