
The document condemned "any military intention" aimed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
The ruling party and parliamentary opposition did not agree on a common resolution text, and the draft was not supported by a majority of the opposition’s MPs, except members of European Socialists and Citizens parties.
Irakli Kadagishvili, the Chairman of the Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, said:
“There should be no excuse for Russia to be allowed to spread its aggression on Georgia as well, stressing out the extent of the crisis and calling it a threat to most of the continental Europe, including Georgia. Steps taken by Georgia must be agreed with its partners and be in accordance with the interests of the country.”
