
According to the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, 299,605 international tourist visits to Georgia were made in November 2022. Of these, 108,247 were Russian visitors. Based on the statistics, compared to the same period last year, the figure has increased by 362%, and for the sixth month in a row, Russia is leading in the statistics of international visitors to Georgia.
The list of 10 countries according to the visits made by international visitors is as follows:
1. Russia - 108,247 visitors (362.1% increase compared to the previous year);
2. Turkey - 101,940 visitors (212.9% increase);
3. Armenia - 71,785 visitors (272.1% increase);
4. Georgia (non-resident) – 25,932 visitors (71.1% increase);
5. Israel - 15,386 visitors (27.9% increase);
6. Ukraine - 13,631 visitors (56.7% increase);
7. Azerbaijan - 12,419 visitors (54% increase);
8. Belarus - 6,675 visitors (142.9% increase);
9. Iran - 6,508 visitors (121% increase);
10. Kazakhstan - 6,253 visitors (21.5% increase).
It should be noted that migrants were not separated from tourists. Consequently, the citizens of Russia and Belarus, who visited Georgia due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, are included in the tourism statistics.
