“Nine Georgian companies have presented over 12 wine varieties at the Georgian Wine Festival during Georgia Days in Japan in Tokyo's Yoyogi Park,” - the Georgian National Wine Agency said.

Japanese sommelier Ryunosuke Yoshihara led the presentation and tasting of Georgian wine at the Festival, the body added, noting Japan had emerged as a strategic export market for Georgian wine.

Wine companies from Georgia have consistently participated in international exhibitions in the country, such as Foodex Japan and Wine and Gourmet Japan, since 2014, it also said.

The Agency added presentations and tastings of Georgian wine were regularly held in various Japanese cities, while wine tours were organized for Japanese wine professionals and media representatives in regions of Georgia.
