The Government of Georgia is publishing the European Commission questionnaire. The questionnaire was handed to Georgia by the EU Commission, which is to prepare the Opinion on Georgia's application for membership in the European Union.
The decision over making the document public was made at today's meeting of the Government Commission on EU Integration of Georgia, which was chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili.
The first part of the special questionnaire on the EU membership was delivered to Georgia on April 11 in Luxembourg. Based on the questionnaire, the European Commission will prepare an evaluation report (Opinion) on granting candidate status to the country.
The questionnaire includes political and economic parts, however, Georgia will soon receive the second part of the questionnaire, which will focus on sectoral topics and compatibility with the EU legislation by sectors.
