In November 2024, Georgia's Consumer Price Index rose by 0.7% compared to the previous month, with an annual inflation rate of 1.3%. Annual core inflation increased by 1.6%, with the same rate excluding tobacco.
Key contributors to annual inflation included:
Food and non-alcoholic beverages: Prices rose by 3.1%, contributing 1.0 percentage points to inflation, driven by higher prices for vegetables (15.5%), coffee, tea, and cocoa (7.8%), and sugar, among others. Milk, cheese, and eggs decreased by 1.5%.
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco: Prices increased by 5.1%, contributing 0.34 percentage points, with a rise in both alcoholic beverages (7.5%) and tobacco (2.1%).
Communication: Prices fell by 12.9%, contributing -0.48 percentage points.
Housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuels: Prices decreased by 3.7%, with drops in electricity, gas, and fuel prices (-5.2%) and housing rentals (-2.7%).
Miscellaneous goods and services: Prices rose by 6.6%, contributing 0.35 percentage points, driven by increases in personal effects (23.4%), insurance (12.9%), and financial services (4.5%).
