In December 2024, the Construction Cost Index (CCI) rose by 2.7 percent relative to the previous month, as reported by the National Statistics Service (GeoStat). This increase was primarily driven by a 12.6 percent rise in the average monthly nominal wages of employees in the construction sector, which accounted for 2.72 percentage points of the total change in the index.
When compared to December 2023, the CCI experienced a 4.7 percent increase. This was largely attributed to a 19.7 percent rise in the average monthly nominal wages within the construction sector and a 3.0 percent increase in construction material prices, which contributed 3.01 and 1.77 percentage points, respectively, to the overall index change.
Additionally, the CCI showed a 22.8 percent increase compared to February 2022.
