In 2024, a total of 12,080 construction permits were granted, marking a 7.1 percent increase compared to the previous year. These permits covered a total area of 12,040.4 thousand square meters, reflecting a 28.4 percent increase from the previous year. Notably, 73.5 percent of all permits were issued in four regions: 46.8 percent in Tbilisi, 10.5 percent in Kvemo Kartli, 8.2 percent in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and 8.0 percent in Kakheti.
The permits issued in 2024 were for the construction of a variety of buildings, including multifunctional residential complexes, commercial facilities, hotels, industrial enterprises, agricultural structures, and other types of buildings.
In terms of construction completion, 3,604 objects were finished in 2024, representing a 13.3 percent increase compared to the previous year. However, the total completed area was 3,245.6 thousand square meters, which is a 1.4 percent decrease from the prior year. The distribution of completed constructions was largely concentrated in four regions: 36.2 percent in Tbilisi, 13.2 percent in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 12.7 percent in Kakheti, and 7.7 percent in Imereti.
