
On October 15, Akhtala Park located in Gurjaani Municipality, will host the wine festival for the fourth time. This year, the festival will combine wines of different types, colors and ages, as well as chacha and other drinks of more than 300 winemakers, which will be decorated with a culinary space specially created for the wine festival, together with the authentic dishes created on the spot by the chefs invited. The festival will be entertaining, inspired by lively and pleasant music, in a beautiful recreation area covered in autumn colors, where people of any age will be able to spend an interesting time with friends and family.
The Gurjaani Wine Festival will start at 2:00 p.m., where guests will have the opportunity to take part in dipping a long string of nuts [Churchkhela] in Tatara [Georgian grape pudding] and grape pressing, chacha and wine tasting, sports competitions and other fun games against the background of the Georgian polyphonic singing. Activities will be held simultaneously in several locations, such as ethno space, Tatara and winemaking space, children's entertainment zone. This year, the festival is special because it is an official partner of IWSC, and the winners of the competition will be awarded on October 15, at the event.
Within the framework of the festival, specially created automnal, historical and culinary pavilions will be presented. Also, an exhibition and sale of fruits and vegetables, Kakhuri sweets and handicrafts will be organized. The musical mood will be created by: Giorgi Tsagareli with the orchestra and friends (SALIO & SvanSikh, Erekle Deisadze), Tamada, Nodariko Khutsishvili and band, Georgian Voices and band (premiere), Groove Possession, Natia Koroghlishvili, Tato Goderdzishvili, Levan Kandiashvili, Ensemble Khareba, Ensemble Mravalzhamieri and others.
The Gurjaani Wine Festival 2022 is being held within the framework of the Georgian Wine Week and is supported by: the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, the National Wine Agency of Georgia and other commercial organizations. The purpose of the festival is to promote the development of wine tourism, introduce wine culture and Georgian traditions to both foreigners and Georgian society.
This year, the Gurjaani Wine Festival will host more than 30,000 domestic and international tourists.
It is important that the Gurjaani Wine Festival is an official partner of the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in Georgia, the supporters of the event are: the Wine Days in Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, the National Tourism Administration of Georgia and the Gurjaani City Hall.
