Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, delivered a speech at the Ministerial within the framework of the summit.
Mariam Kvrivishvili briefed the sectoral representatives on the projects under the Renewed Regions Program, which is being implemented in all regions of Georgia at the initiative of the Prime Minister, promoting the development not only of basic, but also of tourist infrastructure in all regions.
In her speech, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia stressed the importance of employment, job creation and promotion of the qualification of employees in the tourism sector. Mariam Kvrivishvili noted that the number one task and priority of the Government of Georgia is to eliminate the employment problems and create new jobs.
"We had a very fruitful visit to Spain, where Georgia participated in the World Tourism Summit. We had the opportunity to make other delegates get acquainted with Georgia's practice against the background of COVID-19 pandemic, dynamics of rapid recovery of tourism and aviation. At the same time, we held some fruitful meetings with local airlines to launch direct air traffic with Madrid", - said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
The World Future of Tourism Summit ongoing in Spain was attended by 80 speakers - representatives of Ministries of tourism, administrations, international and private organizations - from 70 countries.
