“I had a meeting with Hungary’s Minister of Economy, where we discussed economic cooperation. We have established an important format with Hungary and agreed to maintain an expanded intergovernmental cooperation framework, within which we are discussing enhanced economic ties between our two countries,” stated Georgian Minister of Economy, Levan Davitashvili.
Davitashvili noted that discussions with Hungarian representatives also focused on better utilizing Georgia’s transit potential.
“During the meeting, we discussed Hungarian companies’ interest in port infrastructure, as both Georgia and Hungary hold significant transit functions. Consequently, we anticipate increased interest in implementing investments in Georgia. We also discussed sharing specific projects. We will prepare a comprehensive package to share with our colleagues. These investment projects encompass both private-sector initiatives and public investments. I am confident that Hungary and its business circles will show considerable interest in these projects. Therefore, we continue and will maintain our communication, dialogue, and efforts to deepen economic ties,” Davitashvili stated.
