Up to 50 Georgian companies will soon join the world’s leading B2B e-commerce platform, Alibaba.com, through a state-backed initiative led by the Produce in Georgia agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
As part of the program, the agency will fully cover all costs related to platform placement, including annual membership fees and product promotion. Selected Georgian firms will be granted Global Gold Supplier status—an internationally recognized verification that enhances trust and credibility with buyers worldwide.
“This initiative gives Georgian businesses a unique opportunity to enter global markets, attract international partners, and boost exports,” the Ministry of Economy stated.
The company selection process will take place in two stages:
-
Initial Ranking: Companies with the highest scores on the Produce in Georgia electronic platform (tradewithgeorgia.com) were shortlisted.
-
Alibaba Verification: Shortlisted businesses will undergo a further round of evaluation by the Alibaba.com team.
Once finalized, selected companies will receive targeted training organized by Produce in Georgia ahead of their official onboarding to the platform.
An Alibaba.com delegation is expected to visit Georgia in the near future to familiarize themselves with local products and meet participating companies.
Launched in 1999, Alibaba.com is a global leader in B2B e-commerce, connecting millions of buyers and suppliers across more than 200 countries and regions. The platform spans a wide range of industries, helping businesses expand internationally and enabling buyers to source products and suppliers efficiently.
