Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, views the launch of placing Georgian products on Alibaba.com with state backing as a key part of the government’s strategy to promote exports.
Nadareishvili emphasized that the agreement between the Produce in Georgia Agency and Alibaba opens unique global opportunities for Georgian entrepreneurs and exporters.
“Export support is the government’s top priority to assist entrepreneurship and businesses. Through the Produce in Georgia program, we offer technical assistance, participation in international fairs, grant programs, and various training. Now, we are adding the chance for Georgian products to be showcased on Alibaba.com,” he said.
The Ministry of Economy has announced that in the first phase, up to 50 Georgian companies will be registered on Alibaba.com, with the Produce in Georgia Agency covering the annual membership fees. Georgian businesses will gain Global Gold Supplier status, a prestigious verification that helps build trust with international buyers and enables informed purchasing decisions.
