
Bulgarian specialists shared information about the ongoing research and results in the Black Sea with their Georgian colleagues at the meeting of the sub-regional group held with the support of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in the city of Burgas, Bulgaria.
According to the report of the National Environmental Agency of Georgia, it was noted that, as a result of observations, the water quality, including total oil hydrocarbons, heavy metals and other chemical parameters, are within the limits of the norm in the Black Sea aquaria of Bulgaria and Georgia.
A meeting regarding the anchovy stock assessment in Bulgaria was aimed at conserving biological resource stocks and promoting sustainable fisheries in the Black Sea. A thorough stock assessment contributes to the sustainable development of the fishing industry.
