The Georgian National Tourism Administration has released detailed tourism statistics for May 2022. The document shows that 319,796 visits were made to the country last month. Compared to the previous year, this flow has increased by 205%. As a result, tourism has recovered to 52% of pre-pandemic levels.
According to statistics, Georgia hosted 60,184 visitors from Turkey and 51,561 - from Russia. The list of the top ten countries and annual growth of tourist flow are distributed as follows. In May, visitors came to Georgia from the following countries:
1) Turkey - 60 184 visitors, with an increase of 175% compared to the previous year;
2) Russia - 51,561 visitors, with an increase of 377% compared to the previous year;
3) Armenia - 42,606 visitors, with an increase of 332% compared to the previous year;
4) Georgia (non-resident) - 24,682 visitors, with an increase of 159% compared to the previous year;
5) Israel - 18 986 visitors, with an increase of 69% compared to the previous year;
6) Ukraine - 15 005 visitors, with an increase of 30% compared to the previous year;
7) Azerbaijan - 12 634 visitors, with an increase of 121% compared to the previous year;
8) Kazakhstan - 10,965 visitors, with an increase of 135% compared to the previous year;
9) Belarus - 9,780 visitors, with an increase of 316% compared to the previous year;
10) Saudi Arabia - 8 559 visitors, with an increase of 1802% compared to the previous year.
In May, 188,532 people arrived in Georgia by land and 128,343 - by air.
