The GDRP program is the first US security cooperation effort specifically focused on improving Georgia's territorial defense capabilities, and has been a central component of EUCOM bilateral cooperation with Georgia since May 2018. The GDRP program will be completed by the end of this year. The GDRP will be replaced by the GDDEI Program, a multi-year investment by the US Department of Defense in cooperation with the Georgian Ministry of Defense and the Georgian Defense Forces.

The parties at the meeting summarized the achievements of the GDRP and discussed how to move to the GDDEI program, which in turn is an expression of the development of bilateral cooperation. GDDEI is directly based on the GDRP's achievements and demonstrates the United States' continued commitment to Georgia and the importance of the US-Georgia Strategic Partnership.
