According to Galt & Taggart's forecast, this year tourist visits will fully return to 2019 figures. In addition, the organization predicts a 15% increase in tourism revenues to $4 billion in 2023.
It should be noted that prior to the pandemic, in 2019, Georgia received almost $3.3 billion as income from international travel, and in 2022, this figure increased to a record high $3.5 billion.
The data published by the National Bank show that, in 2022, Georgia received the highest income from tourism in August, which amounted to $523 million.
In terms of regions, it can be seen that tourism revenues in Tbilisi increased by 3% compared to 2019 and amounted to $1.275 billion, there is a 47% increase in Adjara region, where tourism revenues exceeded one billion dollars last year.
