"In China, the rate of sales of high-end Badagoni wine has returned to the pre-pandemic level", - Giorgi Salakaia, the founder of the wine producing company, stated, while evaluating the company's activities in 2022.
Giorgi Salakaia said that Badagoni wines are presented in the premium segment in one of the big Asian markets and the interest towards the Georgian wine is growing.
"Due to the pandemic, we went through a rather difficult period with China - one of the most difficult countries stemming from the regulations that they have up to now. Practically, we returned to the pre-pandemic level we had calculated.
We have a very good partner; it can be said that we are the only one, represented in the luxury segment in the form of Georgian wine in central and southern China. We do not enter this country with the whole portfolio and it is not in our interest either. Together with our partners, we calculated that the first Georgian wine should be tasted by the segment that, in the face of this fierce competition, is actually a wine consumer", - Giorgi Salakaia said, adding that Badagoni increased its wine sales in 2022 both in Asia and Europe.
TBC Bank, is a financial partner of Badagoni, one of the largest producers of wine and alcoholic beverages in Georgia, and as Levan Shavkatsishvili, the Head of the corporate customer service department of TBC, notes in the TBC Concept program, TBC has been a supporter of Badagoni's business development for years.
According to Shavkatsishvili, the events that have developed in recent years have put wine producers in front of logistical difficulties, however, the new opportunities emerged in the challenges and Badagoni strengthened its positioning in new markets. In addition, as Shavkatsishvili stated, “during the last 12 months, the sales share of Badagoni in the Georgian market has doubled”.
