The volume of pumpkin and zucchini exports from Georgia decreased. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), 477 tons of vegetables worth $349,570 have been exported from Georgia in January-September this year, while in the same period of 2023 - 582 tons of pumpkins and zucchini worth 495,850 USD were exported abroad. This year, Georgia has sold the largest amount of pumpkin and zucchini to Russia (200 tons - 178,180 USD), followed by Armenia (184 tons - 153,240 USD) and relatively small amount to Azerbaijan (92 tons - 18,160 USD).
As for imports, pumpkin imports into Georgia have become more expensive this year. According to Saxstat data, in the first nine months of this year, 728 tons of pumpkin, zucchini and other vegetables of the gourd family were imported to Georgia. It cost the country 341,650 USD. Compared to the same period of the previous year, the mentioned figure has been slightly reduced in volume, while the amount has been significantly increased. In particular, in January-September 2023, Georgia imported 734 tons of pumpkins and zucchini to Georgia, which cost $138,020.
Georgia bought mostly vegetables in Turkey. A small amount of pumpkin and zucchini has also been imported from Iran this year.
