“Georgia is participating in the 116th session of the Executive Board of the UN World Tourism Organization as a member of the Council,” - the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia reports.
Reportedly, the session, which is being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is being attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili and the First Deputy Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration Tamar Koriauli.
The event touched upon the current trends in the international tourism and further plans for sustainable recovery of the sector.
"The participation in the 116th session of the UN World Tourism Organization as a member state is of paramount importance, as from this platform, we are given the opportunity to participate in solving and deciding the issues that improve the dynamics of tourism recovery globally. Of course, it will have a positive impact on our country, in addition, it is an important platform to strengthen the position of Georgia; it is also noteworthy that the event is being held in Saudi Arabia, which is an exceptionally important tourist partner for our country,"- said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
The session included thematic discussion panels and bilateral meetings with the participation of high-ranking representatives of tourism agencies from around the world.
