Brigadier General Petr Svoboda, Deputy Commander of NATO’s Joint Force Training Center (JFTC), and Colonel Ladislav Svezda from the JFTC Training and Exercises Department recently visited Georgia for a working trip.
According to the Georgian Ministry of Defence, the NATO delegation was welcomed at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) in Krtsanisi. During an information briefing, Colonel David Gagua, JTEC Commander, provided a detailed overview of the centre’s history, objectives, completed projects, and future plans.
The meeting highlighted the long-standing cooperation between JTEC and JFTC, focusing particularly on JFTC’s support for JTEC’s development. A major topic of discussion was the NATO-Georgia 2025 exercise, which is scheduled to take place in Georgia later this year. General Svoboda was updated on the planning and preparations for this significant event.
Throughout their three-day visit, the JFTC representatives met with Major General Zaza Chkhaidze, Deputy Commander of the Georgian Defence Forces, and other senior defence officials. They also visited the Combat Training Center (CTC), a key component of JTEC.
Since 2017, JTEC has been working with JFTC under a mentoring program, and in 2020, both centres formalized their cooperation with a partnership agreement, as noted by the Ministry of Defence.
