The National Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia is hosting the journalists from the USA, the Netherlands, Sweden and Ireland working on wine topics. During the tour, the journalists and bloggers visited Georgia to prepare articles and blogs for publications such as Wine Enthusiast, Wine Business Monthly; KenWijn Magazine; Munskänkarnas Tidning, Star Wine List and Törst; Vinyard Magazine & Hotel & Restaurant Times Ireland.
"Our goal is to position Georgia's competitive tourism product in our target markets. We are currently hosting a 20-member group of the journalists and bloggers focused on positioning wine tourism. As a result, we will have very interesting articles about the potential of wine tourism in both print and online publications and leading media outlets," - said Medea Janiashvili, the Acting Head of the National Tourism Administration.
Foreign journalists and bloggers visited Tbilisi, Sighnaghi and the villages of Telavi municipality, got acquainted with the Kakhetian winemaking and tasted the local wine.
As part of the tour, international media representatives will attend the event "Women in Wine Expo 2022", which will be held at the resort Lopota. Women engaged in the wine industry worldwide are participating in Women in Wine Expo 2022. The project is supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Georgian Farmers' Association. After the tour, foreign journalists and bloggers will write articles about the Georgian wine tourism, which will help raise awareness of Georgia in Europe and the United States, as well as attract tourist flows from the target tourism markets.
