Under the organization of the Embassy of Georgia in the Vatican, a solemn reception was held in the historical palace, Palazzo della Cancelleria, which was dedicated to the erection of the mosaic mural of the Virgin of Iveria in the Vatican.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Khatuna Totladze, the Metropolitan of Chiatura and Sachkhere Reverend Danieli, the State Secretary of the Vatican, Cardinal Peitro Parolini, and the Ambassador of Georgia to the Vatican, Mr. Ketevan Bagrationi-Mukhranbatoni, spoke at the reception.
In her speech, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the special contribution of Ketevan Bagrationi-Mukhranbatoni to the development of relations between Georgia and the Holy See.
"Today we take the opportunity to celebrate the strong friendship between Georgia and the Holy See, which is connected by many historical events and is deeply rooted in Christian culture.
The two sovereign states - Georgia and the Holy See - share the values of peace and stability as the supreme norms from which the actions of the state should be derived, as well as the global vision dominated by tolerance, respect and mutual understanding," Khatuna Totladze said.
The solemn evening was performed by Sukhishvilebi and Basiani ensembles.
