
From the first of January, the price of medicines will be reduced by 40%. At the first stage, the price change will affect oncological and chronic medicines, which will include approximately 1,110 medicines.
The regulation will apply to both retail network and distribution pharmacies. From 2023, pharmacies will no longer be able to arbitrarily increase the price of medicine, because the control mechanisms are scheduled to be tightened.
In case of detection of violations, different types of sanctions will apply. The company will be given a warning for the first time, a repeated fact will be subject to a fine envisiging 5 thousand to 45 thousand GEL.
Regulation of the price of medicines is most relevant to those who have chronic health problems and often have to buy expensive medicine during the month.
