Georgian wines were recently featured at a special tasting event hosted at the New York office of U.S. distributor M.S. Walker, with support from Georgia’s National Wine Agency and coordination by its partner company, Vinoveli Inc.
The event attracted bloggers, wine importers, distributors, and representatives from the media and hospitality sectors, offering them a chance to experience the diversity and heritage of Georgian winemaking. In total, 30 wines from 10 Georgian producers were presented.
Founded in Boston in 1933, M.S. Walker is a fifth-generation, family-owned importer and distributor of wines and spirits. The company also operates as a spirit bottler and national supplier, making it a valuable potential partner for expanding Georgian wine presence in the U.S. market.
Introducing Georgian wines to M.S. Walker’s network allows sales representatives and industry professionals to gain direct insight into the unique characteristics of Georgian wine—particularly its ancient winemaking tradition and indigenous grape varieties.
The United States remains a key strategic export market for Georgian wine. Since 2013, the National Wine Agency has invested in targeted marketing campaigns that have significantly boosted awareness and demand for Georgian wines across the country.
