According to the Ministry, the main topic of conversation at the meeting held at the Ministry was COVID-19 "Green Passport", which, under the government's decision, will be launched in Georgia from December 1, without which citizens will no longer be allowed in food outlets.
During the conversation, emphasis was placed on the so-called epidemiological situation in the country and for the purpose of its improvement, the importance of enforcing “green passports.” During the discussion, the representatives of the sector shared their views with Mariam Kvrivishvili, and the latter answered their questions, as well.
"Today we met with representatives of restaurants; we had a very important, interesting discussion. For us, of course, the feedback from the private sector is very important and, of course, based on today’s meeting, we will present the position to the Coordinating Council that we have heard from the business. We hope that the decision will be balanced to stabilize the epidemic situation and at the same time, there will be favorable conditions for business," - said the Deputy Minister of Economy after the meeting.
According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, meetings with representatives of the private sector on this issue will continue in the coming days.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Georgian Restaurant Association and about 35 food outlets. Acting Business Ombudswoman Nino Kvetenadze, Acting Head of the National Tourism Administration Medea Janiashvili and a representative of the Labor Inspectorate also participated in the meeting.
