"Georgia is hosting representatives of high-ranking TV stations and print media from Bulgaria. The main focus will be on our cultural heritage; stories and articles will be prepared, which will be disseminated through various channels and publications in Bulgaria,” - said Medea Janiashvili, Acting Head of the National Tourism Administration.
Anthony Georgieff, editor of the Bulgarian edition of the international magazine Vagabond, is among the tour participants. The aim of the press tour is to popularize Georgian tourism products in Bulgaria and attract tourist flows.
"First of all, I would like to tell you that I was in Georgia 6 or 7 years ago and saw many places, but today I am surprised by Tbilisi - it has changed a lot, it is more beautiful, many things have been renewed and I think it is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Of course, Tbilisi is a safe city, as well as other places in Georgia," - said Anthony Georgieff, editor of Vagabond magazine.
Within the framework of the 5-day tour, Bulgarian journalists will visit Tbilisi, Uplistsikhe, Akhaltsikhe, Sapara Monastery, Vardzia, Poka and other tourist places of Samtskhe-Javakheti.
"It is not my first visit to Georgia, I was there 20 years ago; now everything has changed, I was very fascinated by Tbilisi. I saw very friendly, smiling people here. I am sure that many Bulgarian tourists will visit Georgia as soon as a direct flight is scheduled. Despite the pandemic, I think Georgia is safe, everyone wears a facemask, vaccination documents and those who have undergone a PCR test are checked when entering the border,” - Magdalena Gigova, a TV presenter participating in the tour, stated.
After the tour, Bulgarian journalists will prepare TV stories, blogs and articles about Georgia's tourism, culture, historical monuments and nature, which will be read by tens of thousands of TV viewers and readers in Bulgaria.
