Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, presented collector coins to the national football team in recognition of their success at Euro 2024. 

Silver coins were given to the players, and gold coins to coach Willy Sagnol. Turnava highlighted that the coins would forever symbolize the team's achievement and noted the NBG’s exclusive right to issue commemorative coins on important national themes.

The decision to issue the coins followed Georgia’s historic qualification for Euro 2024, marking the team’s first-ever appearance in the tournament. In collaboration with the Georgian Football Federation, the coins feature the team logo, St. George, and the motto "I am Georgia." The NBG has previously issued similar coins to honor the success of Georgian athletes in rugby, basketball, and the Olympics.
