The Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Solomon Pavliashvili attended the Paris International Forum to End Plastic Pollution in Cities.
Within the framework of the forum, Solomon Pavliashvili took part in two thematic discussions: sustainable production/use of plastic and prevention of plastic pollution.
The Deputy Minister spoke in detail about the ongoing activities in Georgia in the direction of plastic pollution prevention and emphasized the country's readiness to introduce circular management approaches.
It is worth noting that in March 2022, the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) adopted the resolution "End Plastic Pollution", which aims to develop an international agreement to combat plastic pollution.
High-ranking officials of the environmental protection department, as well as representatives of the United Nations Environmental Protection Program, participated in the forum.
