Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Peter Fischer, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, spoke about the further prospects of relations and cooperation between the two countries at a meeting held at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, which was also attended by the Head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, Maia Omiadze, and the Deputy Head of the National Tourism Administration, Tamar Koriauli.
According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, along with other important issues, the parties discussed the preparations for the international tourism exhibition - ITB Berlin, planned for March 2023, where Georgia will be presented as the host country.
As the Deputy Minister noted, there are traditionally friendly, business relations and active cooperation in various fields between Georgia and Germany. Mariam Kvrivishvili stressed that “it should be emphasized that Germany is the country Georgia performs the most flights with - four airlines operate in Georgia in seven directions, which is especially important for tourism”.
"We think that the status of the host country at the 2023 ITB Berlin exhibition (Germany) will further contribute to the growth of tourist flows to Georgia both from the Federal Republic of Germany and from Europe as a whole," - Mariam Kvrivishvili said.
