Major General Zaza Chkhaidze, Deputy Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces, Colonel Zurab Khvichia, Commander of the Training and Military Education Command, and Major General Bogdan Rycerski, the newly appointed Commander of the NATO Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC), engaged in discussions regarding the capabilities of the Georgian Defence Forces, ongoing reforms, and prospects for future cooperation, as reported by the Ministry of Defence.
During the meeting, Colonel David Gagua, Commander of the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre in Krtsanisi, introduced Major General Rycerski to the Centre’s objectives and tasks. The parties also discussed the planned NATO-Georgia exercise scheduled for 2025.
Both sides emphasized the “long-standing fruitful cooperation” between the training centres, with Colonel Gagua highlighting the JFTC’s role in supporting the development of the Joint Training and Evaluation Centre.
The NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre began its cooperation with the NATO Joint Force Training Centre in Poland in 2017, formalizing the partnership with an agreement signed in 2020.
