
The Georgian Agriculture Minister Otar Shamugia said promoting the development of viticulture and winemaking in the country was one of the main priorities of the Ministry while visiting a wine cellar in the village of Gveso in western Georgia's Tsageri Municipality.
Shamugia, along with Papuna Margvelidze, the State Representative in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, inspected the family wine cellar, built and equipped with modern standards within the state programme Promotion of Entrepreneurial Activity in Mountainous Regions implemented by the Rural Development Agency.
The Ministry reported that the contracts had been signed with 59 beneficiaries within the state programme implemented by the Rural Development Agency, with the total investment constituting GEL 8.8 million ($ 3.2mln), from which the Agency’s co-financing amounted to more than GEL 4.5million ($1.65mln).
