The rate of compatibility of Georgia with the common foreign and security policy of the European Union is still significantly low, i.e. 49%, - it is mentioned in the enlargement report, which was published by the European Commission on October 30.
According to the report, based on the conclusions reached in June 2024, on October 17, 2024, the European Council once again expressed its serious concern about the actions taken by the Government of Georgia, which are contrary to the values and principles on which the European Union is based.
"The European Council recalled that such an action threatens Georgia's European path and de facto stops the accession process. The rate of compatibility with the common foreign and security policy of the European Union remains significantly low, i.e. 49%. During the reporting period, the number of direct flights to/from Russia in various directions has significantly increased," the document states.
In addition, the report emphasized that Georgia cooperated with the European Union in order to prevent the circumvention of sanctions.
According to the document, the European Union supports Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and has been involved in peaceful conflict resolution efforts since 2008, including the EU Monitoring Mission and the EU Special Representative for the Crisis in the South Caucasus and Georgia.
