The Government of Georgia has officially declared January 5 and 6, 2026, as non-working days, according to a decree published today on the website of the Legislative Herald.
Under the resolution, administrative bodies are authorized to determine which services or employees are exempt from the days off if their functions are deemed essential for the exercise of state authority or the uninterrupted functioning of society.
The decree does not apply to financial obligations that must be fulfilled to individuals under the supervision of the National Bank of Georgia. It also excludes activities related to state procurement, as defined by the Law of Georgia “On State Procurement,” including the work of the Council for the Review of Procurement-Related Disputes and procurements specified under subparagraph “a.t” of paragraph 1 of Article 3 of the same law.
The document was signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
