EU Delegation and diplomats attend presentation of Georgian Maritime Transport Strategy

On October 21, the Maritime Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia presented a working document on the EU-supported Maritime Transport Strategy. The presentation was attended by Director for Neighbourhood East and Institution Building at the European Commission, Lawrence Meredith, EU Ambassador to Georgia, Carl Hartzell, and other members of the EU Delegation.
"With the support of the European Union, we will soon have a maritime transport strategy - a document that is designed for the period until 2030, including an orderly plan for the development of Georgia's maritime transport sector.The interest of the EU delegation and diplomats, Mr. Lawrence Meredith and Mr. Carl Hartzell in Georgia's maritime sector and maritime strategy underscores the EU's support for the region and the importance of strengthening its Black Sea ties," - Tamar Ioseliani, Head of the Maritime Transport Agency, said.
The Head of the Maritime Transport Agency, Tamar Ioseliani, introduced the Batumi Seaport and the Batumi International Container Terminal to the EU delegation.
