In his annual address to Parliament, Mikheil Kavelashvili, President of Georgia, stated that the persistent application of double standards towards Georgia undermines European values and tarnishes the reputation of European partners.

Kavelashvili expressed regret that these double standards arise from the very institutions where the Georgian people have chosen to uphold justice, mutual respect, the rule of law, and the protection of national identity and sovereignty.

He emphasized that Georgia, which has long struggled to uphold European ideals, does not deserve such unfair treatment. Kavelashvili reiterated the importance of acting in the nation’s best interests to ensure peace and strengthen the country’s position.
