Deputy Economy Minister of Georgia: Bees Airline's decision to operate flights to a new destination will have a positive impact on Georgia's tourism sector

"It is important that despite the pandemic, new directions are added to the Georgian aviation market, which will contribute to the development of local tourism and civil aviation," - Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, responded to the decision of the low-cost airline Bees Airline on expending the destinations for regular flights between Georgia and Ukraine.

In particular, from October 22, Ukrainian airlines will start operating flights from Odessa to Tbilisi and from Tbilisi to Odessa.

"Ukraine is one of the most strategic tourist target markets in Georgia, from which we have a growing number of visitors every year. According to 2021 data, Ukraine is included in the top three list in terms of the growing number of international visitors. Bees Airline's decision will have a positive impact on Georgia's tourism sector, both in traditional and new tourist destinations," - Mariam Kvrivishvili said.

According to the application for flight permission submitted to the Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Bees Airline will operate regular flights between Tbilisi and Odessa, once a week, every Friday. The agency has already granted a permit to the Ukrainian airline to operate in the new direction.

Bees Airline entered the Georgian aviation market in April 2021 and currently operates flights from Kiev and Kherson.
