The laboratory testing of the breakwater model for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port took place with the participation of representatives from the Jan De Nul NV consortium, which is responsible for the port’s marine infrastructure works, as reported by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
According to the ministry, Tim Devolder, the Head of the Georgian office of Jan De Nul NV, attended the event in Copenhagen, Denmark. He emphasized the significance of this stage in the Anaklia project, which is led by the experienced and highly reputable company DHI.
“We are reviewing a real model to refine our future construction plans. DHI specializes in constructing such models, and we place great emphasis on quality. Anaklia Port is a vital project not only for our company but also for Georgia. Given its long operational lifespan, every detail requires careful consideration, which is why we involve various specialists,” stated Devolder.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Guram Guramishvili and Zurab Sichinava, Director of Anaklia Seaport LLC, also attended the laboratory testing.
During the visit, the parties finalized the breakwater configuration and established plans and schedules for the next research stage.
