Shalva Alaverdashvili also spoke about the occupancy of hotels and the tourist prospects of the summer season.

"We actually started receiving guests last March; the occupancy of hotels was relatively good this March, as well; we have quite a lot of reservations in April and May. Compared to 2019, we have a notabele recovery.

However, in the wake of the war, the existing expectations have changed. European tourists canceled 70% of their bookings. Therefore, at this stage we are trying to diversify the markets in other directions. Basically, just like last year, this time the Gulf countries (Iraq, Iran and the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia) are active. We are trying to replenish our hotels from these countries. The Gulf countries and Israel will be the flagship in the summer," Alaverdashvili said.
