Kutaisi International Airport is expanding its network with the addition of a new destination: Venice. The announcement was made by the Union of Georgian Airports (UGA), confirming that low-cost carrier Wizz Air will launch the new route on December 2, operating with Airbus A321neo aircraft.
Flights between Venice and Kutaisi will run twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. According to the UGA, this new connection follows successful negotiations with Wizz Air. Tickets are already available on the airline’s official website.
The new route is part of a broader expansion by Wizz Air at Kutaisi. Earlier this summer, the airline resumed services to Madrid and Hamburg, and in June, it launched a new direct route to Lyon, also with twice-weekly flights.
Wizz Air continues to strengthen its leading role in Georgia’s aviation market, a position it has held since 2022. Between January and July 2025, the airline transported nearly 900,000 passengers in Georgia and operated around 4,800 flights to and from Kutaisi—marking a 9% increase compared to the same period last year.
Currently, Wizz Air offers 24 destinations from Kutaisi across 13 countries in Europe and the Middle East.
