
Today, Georgia has officially launched a human capital program with the support of the World Bank and the French Development Agency, the goal of which is to increase the economic potential of the country by investing in health care, education and social protection.
As the World Bank reports, it is a multi-faceted investment that the bank has implemented during 30 years of partnership with Georgia, and it is also the first project that comprehensively focuses on all three critical areas of human capital development.
In support of the human capital program, the World Bank allocated an investment worth 400 million US dollars, and the French Development Agency (AFD) provided co-financing in the amount of 100 million euros.
The official signing ceremony of the co-financing agreement was held today at the event dedicated to the launch of the program. As the Director of the French Development Agency, Jozan Raphaël, said, the French Development Agency spends 100 million euros for the development of human capital in Georgia.
According to Jozan Raphaël, since 2018, France has been working with the Georgian government in the health and social welfare sector.
