According to the data of the Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, in January-September 2022, Turkish Airlines served 407,791 passengers in the Georgian air market, which means that Turkish Airlines occupies 12% of the Georgian air market in terms of the number of passengers carried. Wizz Air is also in the leading position in terms of passenger flow, which ranks 1st with Turkish Airlines and is also the owner of a 12% share of the market. In 9 months, the airline served 403,876 passengers.
As of the January-September data, the Turkish airline Pegasus Airlines, which served 292,116 passengers through the international airports of Tbilisi and Batumi, owns a 9% share of the Georgian aviation market and therefore ranks 2nd in the TOP-5.
The Belarusian airline Belavia ranks 3rd with a 6% share among the leaders of the Georgian aviation market, which served 189,550 passengers in the Georgian air market during the reporting period. The airline company Fly Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, the airline company AZAL of Azerbaijan and the airline company Israir Airlines of Israel are the owners of a 5-5% share of the market and, respectively, they rank fourth.
The Saudi Arabian airline Flynas and the Georgian Airways have been in the fifth position in terms of passenger flow through the country's airports for 9 months – a 4-4% share of the Georgian aviation market is owned by them.
As for the rest of the airlines, the Kazakh airline FlyArystan, the United Arab Emirates airline Air Arabia and the Israeli airline EL AL share a 3-3% share of the market depending on the flow of passengers.
The following airlines - Lufthansa, Aircompany Armenia, Qatar Airways, Arkia, Air Astana and LOT Polish Airlines - have a 2-2% share of the market:
In January-September 2022, 97% of passengers in the Georgian air market were served by foreign airlines, and the remaining 3% - by the national airlines.
