The Unit Value Index (UVI) of Agricultural Products rose by 9.5% compared to the previous quarter, according to the latest data. The increase was primarily driven by a 33.8% rise in the unit value of non-perennial crops, which alone contributed 6.66 percentage points to the overall quarterly index growth.
On a year-on-year basis, the UVI recorded an even stronger increase of 13.3%. This growth was again largely attributed to a 51.6% surge in the unit value of non-perennial crops, accounting for 9.09 percentage points of the annual index rise.
In contrast, the unit value of perennial crops declined by 2.6%, contributing a negative 1.16 percentage points to the annual change. Meanwhile, live animals and animal products saw a 10.2% increase in unit value, contributing 5.39 percentage points to the overall index.
The data reflects shifting market dynamics within the agricultural sector, with non-perennial crops showing particularly strong price movements.
