2020: 32.1 billion GEL
2021: 48.08 billion GEL
2022: 52.2 billion GEL
2023: 64.3 billion GEL
Preliminary data from the National Statistics Service indicates that in 2024, approximately 20,941 individuals were employed within the gambling sector, with an average monthly salary of 3,244 GEL.
n response to the sector's expansion, the Georgian government enacted tax reforms in 2023. The profit tax rate for gambling businesses increased from 10% to 15%, and the tax on winnings withdrawn by citizens rose from 2% to 5%. Despite these regulatory changes, turnover within the sector continued to grow.
Furthermore, effective from January 1, 2025, the tax rate on income from gambling activities is set to increase to 20% for both individuals and legal entities.
These developments underscore the government's efforts to enhance fiscal revenues from the gambling industry while acknowledging the sector's significant economic footprint.
