Another European airline has joined the Georgian aviation market, as Transavia France has officially begun operating at Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli International Airport.
Starting April 12, the airline will offer regular direct flights on the Paris–Tbilisi–Paris route twice a week using Airbus A320 aircraft.
The launch follows intensive negotiations between the airline and the Georgian Airports Association, which successfully secured the entry of the French low-cost carrier into Georgia.
The inaugural flight brought 163 passengers from Paris Orly Airport to Tbilisi. They were welcomed by Levan Moseshvili, Director General of the Georgian Airports Association; Akaki Barkaia, Deputy General Manager of TAV Georgia; and representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency and the broader aviation sector.
According to the Airports Association, Transavia France, established in 2006, is a low-cost airline owned by Air France and the Dutch airline Transavia. Its main hub is located at Paris Orly Airport.
Tickets are available on the airline’s official website: https://www.transavia.com/accueil/fr-fr.
