
Within the framework of the Save Nature - Georgia program funded by the Swedish government at the National Environment Agency, the results of the ongoing work in the direction of air quality monitoring were discussed.
The meeting was attended by the head of the National Environment Agency, Tamar Pitskhelauri, representatives of relevant services of the agency and members of the project implementation group. At the meeting, the Environmental Pollution Monitoring Department made a presentation on the issues of air quality monitoring.
According to the head of the National Environment Agency, Tamar Pitskhelauri, the priority direction for the National Environment Agency is the expansion of the atmospheric air monitoring network, for which cooperation with international donor organizations and their support is of the utmost importance.
The National Environment Agency is the beneficiary agency of one of the important components of the Save Nature - Georgia project – Improving Air Quality Monitoring Network in Georgia. As part of the project, the Agency will acquire 8 automatic and 1 mobile air quality monitoring stations.
